SuperHenge 7.1 misc data.
just some notes
Ferrari
This is what I am working towards before I chew tulips horizontally.
I have heard this system in my room allready except I had to substitute some speakers from a friend of mine for the left back and right back positions.
I had to borrow a stereo Martin Logan amp from my friend also to power his speakers. ( Watt Puppies ). Yes that is the name of the speakers.
It was amazing to say the least. I played Apocalypse Now.
The explosive concussion blasts were as accurate as it gets.
I know as I was in Nam on a river gunboat. The M&K powered double 12 in units were set to reproduce from 50 hz and below. I wanted to set them to 20 hz but that was the limit of the controlls.
I have 10 ea, dedicated 20 amp circuits running 10 awg romex wire for my audio system. The breakers got warm, but didnt trip. They were a little overloaded. I didnt run the movie continously. They would have all snapped for sure. I ran full bore for only 5-10 minutes at a stretch.
I have a dedicated 100 amp SUBPANEL for my audio running off my 200 amp Main Panel. I had to shut off half of the house to run the system.
Ferrari
aka over the top...
         a little insane....
         way out there.....

take your choice. I am from another planet next to pluto, so they say......

BasicHenge 5.1 is my current setup for AC3 5.1 surround.
Ferrari
StereoHenge (I might build)
I designed this 10 years ago and have been gathering Carver stuff ever since.
I have some spare parts for this project, but I would have to canabolize some of my Carver speakers to fin ish them.
I have a 10 foot ceiling in my audio room and these are 2 inches shorter than that. These speakers would be supported to bow down at the listener (me)
to work right.
Ferrariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
This arrangement sounds 3 times better than just a single set for stereo.
These are my 10 ALS Platinum speakers.
I dont actually listen to them like this.
I either have them set up for theatre 7.1 dolby digital AC3,
or is the double set stereo configuration.

My room is large enough for my ultimate config and that is 10 speaker stereo.
That is 5 per side in a measured curve so that they all point exactly at one person seated. I have 2 custom built mono multi out preamps that take the signal and send out up to 6 ea seperately powered pre amp outputs that feed 10 amp channels.
My 2 M&K MX-5000 THX powered subs are not needed for this setup.
