Re: The cure for what ails ya

Ed, those are 200 x 5s. Using them in a "9.1" configuration for the home theater (2 rows of seating each with a surrond channel).

Re: The cure for what ails ya

If you listen very closely, you may be hearing some Carlos Santana in Snohomish right now. Not sure of the time delay from Kent though.

Re: Bill From Bob Carver's Audio Service Back in Action

I highly recommend Bill. Thank you jjptkd for the info. Got dry holed on a True Sub MK II on eprey. Panicked until I found this thread. Got a hold of Bill, dropped it off on a Tuesday and picked it upon Friday. The price was beyond fair. This weekend I am in the cave listening to some old Sheffield ...

Re: Different fuse holders?

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I purchased a True MKII on EBay and it did not work. Seller claimed it was shipping damage. Took it to Bill's Electronics (his first customer) and he immediately identified cap failure that had been going for some time. If the seller doesn't step up, I will post his n...

Re: Different fuse holders?

Thanks Rabbit. Saw a pair on Craig's List today with the threaded type. I am guessing the plate must have replaced. On another note, I first learned about these based on your review in a different forum. I have since been searching for the Kappa Perfects with no success. Does anybody know of a compa...

Re: Different fuse holders?

Thanks Kingman, they have certainly done that already. The family now refers to my Man Cave as the Man Tomb because I never come out.

Different fuse holders?

Recently purchased a set of ALIII s from the second owner. They were hooked up to Cary tube amps and WOW! I performed my due diligence inspecting the ribbons and woofers based on advice found here. Got them home and realized that the fuse holders on the speakers were different. One speaker has the r...

Re: Piecing together a "new" system

Okay Kingman, no clue how to post a picture but just savvy enough to update avatar. You can see that I am such a newbie that I didn't even know that the amps came in two colors until the second one arrived. Do you suppose they put something special in the bronze one? It's what I'm going to tell peop...

Re: New guy with little knowledge

Thanks. I have never belonged to a forum before but after perusing this one for nearly a week, I learned one thing very quickly: don't use the "dibbs" word. O:) I am really looking forward to learning from all of you. Having spent all my life living in the Seattle area, I have always been a homie wh...

Re: Piecing together a "new" system

Just moved in so the system is not set up. But you can bet that as soon as I received that first Cinema Grand I got the fronts hooked up. All of the surrounds were wall mounted in my previous home and will now have to be on stands. Give me a week and I will post 'em.

New guy with little knowledge

I have been a fan of Mr. Carver since the 70's when I first hooked up the Phase Linear M 700 to a pair of Speakerlab K Horns. Got married and the wife didn't think they worked in my one bedroom condo. Chose poorly and kept her. Good news, she's gone and the last alimony payment made. I am currently ...
