I'd be willing to kick in some $$ to buy Bob a ticket even though I probably can't attend(work/business obligations). Make the guy an offer, hook him up with some accomodations, find out what kind of scotch he drinks and for Ged sakes treat him with the respect we all know he deserves. Someone take ...

He sent some pics but carefully truncated the bottom 1/4 of the speaker.Hmmmm.......Well I asked for more pics INCLUDING a full length view of each and he has yet to reply, that was yesterday evening. I guess we know how this turns out. Does ebay have a sign over their headquarters that says"theives...

Carver gear on E-prey

I'm bidding on the 3 pieces of Carver gear on E-Prey. There's a CT-28v, an A-760x and an A-753x all in one auction. I've been communicating with the 'owner' of the units. I told him I have friends in the area(I do, from one of my M/C lists) and I want him to have the units up and running when they c...

Both of my TFM-55s buzz when they're turned on. Sorta like this .....hit switch...little buzz(for maybe 1/2 second)while lights in room dim(no shit)...and click, we're ready for business. Takes all of 3/4 of a second total. They've aways been like that, but I've never heard a sound through the speak...

Bastid added that after I made this post. Gotta wonder why he can post someone elses pics but not his own. I asked for some hi-rez pics, we'll see if he comes through.

Now that I've had the time to give some serious listening time to both the M500t and the TFM-55s I have a couple of observations I'd like to share. The M500t is one hell of an amp, which probably explains why Bob built it for almost a decade. It is sonically neutral, with a broad, deep and defined s...

Damn, that sorta ticks me off #-o When I was building my system(2 years in the making) I was under the impression the C-19 had those qualities, which prompted my purchase. Later I read it never happened. My C-19 has tubes in several stages(tone, phono and output, IIRC) but just had main 1&2 output, ...

My owners manual states otherwise and I did here the difference.
Really....AFAIK they hadn't been able to get it to work. Does the circuit use a 1 ohm resistor accross the output. I just wonder how Bob did it. Thanks for the reply.

Mr. 500t wrote I think what I'm going to try next is to hook them up to the Tube outputs on my C-16 and see if it tames down the TFM-45 a little bit. Should be interesting. You won't hear any difference. Although my '92 Carver catalogue says the dual output configuration WAS accomplished it was to ...

C-19, anything less is what the neighboorings listen to. Kidding....most any of Bob Carver's pre-amps will serve you well. Welcome aboard!!! Buying a non-running piece isn't what I'd consider to be a good call, although YMMV. *I'd* pay a bit more for piece of mind. That said, I did send 2 of my non-...

Tom: I'm so there dood. I almost had a stroke(no kidding) when my TFM-55s returned and one would work intermittantly or make a scratching sound when played. Fortunately the battery on my cordless phone is on it's way out and wasn't charged or I would have had some serious grovelling to do. I was luc...

Living with both bridged TFM-55s and an M500t, I'd have to say it depends on tastes AND source material. The combination of the C-19 and M500t is easier on selection of source material. It resolves really well but not like the C-1/TFM-55s. It gracefully plays most anything you ask of it and at very ...
