PDR System Updates
Well, slap my ass and call me Sally. That system above IS his rig. Holy Moly, what exquisite taste! I love everything about that listening room. I just showed my wife this setup and I told her THIS is what I want in a listening room. She's cool with it [and she's a tough critic because she's an interior designer] and she gave me the thumbs up!
Perry, it was nice to have chatted with you today. I just wanted to let you know that your listening room rocks. My room is my biggest deficiency in my rig and wow, your rig is sitting in not only a proper room but in very easy on the eyes setting. Lights on or lights off, I know I would be relaxed. Way to go man!

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

Thanks Tom, it was cool to talk to you as well......do I have an accent to you?...
One thing about hard work.....when someone acknowledges your sweat and tears, it always makes the end result sweeter...thanks again.

Re: PDR System Updates
New update.
Built myself a QRD diffuser a few weeks ago and finally had the time to install it the other day.
This is made from popcorn style foam insulation and thin set mortar mixed thin and applied with a paint brush. After the mud has dried a quick sanding then painted to match the room. The top and bottom are pre finished shelving units from Home Depot. No nails or screws used(except for the cleats to hang it) it is all glued together with can foam....very strong.
I liked my poly diffuser but had read how the QRD were better, it does work well. It adds depth to
the soundstage....vocals seem to come from the panel itself, and the layering in instruments seem to be more focused....very cool.
Didnt take long to make.....actually built it in my living room, was easy on the wallet ,my cost about $50 but the styro was free from work, and only weighs in at about 40 lbs.

That turned out very nice! Seeing the finished product, I'd of guessed you'd paid thousands for it!

I think that may be a myth PDR
I have been a audiophile and computer geek for decades and am bigger than you and....well I have the beard to go with that and a couple more years

BTW where are your original ALS's now (in case I just missed you mentioning that)
