Very nice Ray. Don't you also have a setup in the dining room?

Great pics Ray! That's the sort of thing we love on this forum. Your "listening room" looks well-used, and it's obvious that you love music as well as collecting Carver gear, as evidenced by the selves and shelves of CDs and records. Wow, that is a nice looking rig...

Did you design and build that subwoofer yourself? You should do a write-up on it. How does it integrate with the ALS's? Do you have any sort of active EQ or processing to help with that?

Inquiring minds what to know... :D

Ray said the sub is a custom made out of 1.5" MDF, TWO 18" ElectroVoice speakers, run with a bridged TFM-55 and a some kind of bass synthesizer unit, I THINK. Double check with him to be sure. It'll pound you into MUSH, that's fo' sho'... :D

Very nice gear Ray. That sub looks like it would hurt a guy.
Some have called him "The Chosen One", Some have called him "The Messiah"...I prefer "Chocolate Jesus".

I built the sub myself...up close you'd notice my complete absence of carpentry skills. It's 8 cubic feet, sporting 2 18" subs in a dipole configuation, powered by 1000 watts of Bob Carver Power. It is both delicate and powerful. It shakes the whole house...even at low volumes during movies. I enjoy both music and theatre with it.

Ray,

You make me jealous. If I could have only a tenth of the components you have got. Hey, let me know if the TFM 55 or TFM 45 sales fall through. I am posting some of my stuff on the Audioshopper section of the forum. Trying to raise some capital for a switch to separates as I posted earlier this week. Keep me up to date.

Thanks,

Neil
