Love you dog, but disagree.

It depends.

Spikes are good on carpet with a good pad.
They direct the force to a tiny point.

On a wood floor or my concrete floor, find other things work better.
I do agree the wheels on Mike's copper rack need a second look..

Love you to OO but it's true. My rack came with spikes but I didn't install them because I felt I didn't need them. Some time after I got my Music Hall turntable despite have spikes on my granite isolation platform I noticed at really loud volumes I could here my foot tapping through the system. So I remembered that I had spikes (with metal disc to protect the hard wood floor) and I gave them a try. Not only did it solve the foot tapping problem I noticed better image focus even when playing cd's! Before that I had added spikes to the my speakers and they improved the sound. You know me I'll try it before I speak on it! :D

We agree on "depends".
I have some good gear and a lot of spikes that came with it. Bought spikes for my new CarverFest Amps just for the "show" factor.
I find that anytime I can use Sorbothane®, it is a better choice. Talking the 1/2 inch variety. It transforms vibration into energy/heat. I don't know if that is true, but I know for sure on a 100 pound sub it is the "cat's ass". On regular gear, I probably can't hear the difference in it and spikes - except in my mind.

if mike wasn't such a girl , he would not even need the lift. oh yeah, engine lift in garage with car lift, bike lift and last but not forgotten, low profile lift.

As long as he uses the lift for things and not woman. I don't see Mike as a Chubby Hugger.
