iPeng APP for those using SlimDevices !!!

Post by Toy Maker » Sun Feb 01, 2009 12:59 pm

I just thought I'd post this up here, knowing there are a few people using Squeezeboxes, and or other SlimDevices.
I install this app on my iPhone, and it is AMAZING !!!! I strongly urge anyone using a Squeezebox or Transporter, get yourself an iPod Touch, just for this reason.
The program costs $10 in the AppStore, and is well worth every penny. You can buy iPod touches pretty cheap on CraigsList now, so look into a 4-8GB used Touch if you don't want the iPhone.
Your iPhone/iPod become an interactive touch screen for your SlimDecives, and all wireless through your network.
KICK ASS !!!!! *5*

I did a video review/how-to on YouTube last year for the older version. I will try to do a new review on the new version.
The old version was a WebApp, as where the new version is a localApp for the iPhone/iPod, and it's WAY faster.
The new version is what you would expect from the iPod. Again, this guy gets *5*

If you can afford it, get a Transporter.
It should sound like it isn't there!

That's one of the last things on my list to score... @ $2000 new, and around $1500 used, I have to hold out a little while myself.
But DAMN IT'S PERDY !!!!

Not to hi-jack this thread, but if anyone out there is running iTunes and has their computer hooked up to their stereo, and ALSO has an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can download a free app from Apple called "Remote", that lets you control iTunes (and, in fact ALL the iLife media software) through your hand-held. It even displays the cover art from the songs on your computer on your iPhone or Touch when you're running it. Very cool.

The fact that it's FREE and made by Apple (so you know it's gonna work, and it's gonna be EASY to use) is a HUGE plus...

No problem, I'm glad some will get something out of it.
I have been talking to the guy in Germany that made this app, and tonight he asked me if I would like to be a bata-tester for him.
Of course I said yes, and it looks like I might be doing some of the graphix for the upcoming versions too.

Should be interesting to say the least.

Congrats Toy Maker. That was pretty quick of the guy to ask you to be a beta tester.

He and I had talked in the past, he wanted permission to use my video, and contacted me.
While we were talking, I pointed out a few things I saw that needed a little work, or were missing, and he said..
"WOW someone who knows what they're talking about" and asked if I wanted the do the beta testing.
It will be kinda cool I guess. Now my phone will auto update whenever he posts a new beta update I guess.
