Sunfire 300x2

Post by ddhoferjr » Thu Jun 27, 2013 9:17 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a Sunfire 300x2 and haven't decided if an early model or a later model one would be best '96 or '04 model. Are the newer models best? I noticed that the newer models have the metal posts and the older ones have the plastic posts for the speaker hookup. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Do the 300x2 sound smoother than the sig 600x2?

Perhaps if you tell us about the rest of your components you'll be teaming it up with, we can give a more complete answer.

What is your target budget?

Wow...your speakers are power hogs, so I would suggest a 600x2. However, you could bi amp with two 300x2 amps & probably come out of the deal cheaper than a single 600 X 2.

That said, I realy wouldn't recommend one of the newer models over the older model (either is good), except for the fact that it could be old enough to need the caps replaced.
