Ok guys, here is the design I have wanted to build for the last few years. For those that know me well, I'm sure you won't be too surprised that this is being modeled after the JL Gotham. Keep in mind, this is a miniature version. The Gotham uses (2) 13.5" drivers in a sealed enclosure, as where my rendition will have (2) 6.5" drivers in a dual ported enclosure.

I spent a little time getting it into the computer and working out the majority of the fabrication, to make it practical and a bit easier to fabricate than the larger $12k version. This isn't just your average square box by any means. The dimensions of the enclosure are approx. 12" wide x 16" deep and 16" tall

Nice!

James, FWIW...that rounded back shape makes me think of a project I've been eying. Bending Corian. That rounded back would lend itself well to that. 325 degrees for Corian and it becomes pliable like rubber. You can tie a strip of it in a knot. To make a shape like that, you'd have to have a form made to throw it over while it cools. You can router Corian like it's wood. So you could create a slot down each end prior to bending to slide a front panel into. If done precisely to a form, you could also slot and slide in the top and bottom and glue into place. You'd have to router the rear ports prior to bending.

I've been looking at making an oven that will do the temp close enough to not overheat for this purpose. Bend radius is something like 3" for 3/4", 2 for 1/2" and 1 inch for 3/8 Corian. There is a video I found from Dupont themselves talking about working Corian this way.

Corian sucks !! We've worked with it 100x. I am one of a very few (non Corian certified fabricators) that can buy it direct, since we use it for signs from time to time. Routes nice, but it's stupid heavy, retarded expensive and brittle AS FUCK ! No way would I build a box with it for something like this. The shit STARTS at like $400 per 30x144 sheet, and goes up about $100 per sheet per color series. They have sheets 30x144 that are over $900 just because of the color.

Sooo....a big fan! =; Ha...ha...

Yes, if Corian has various speckles and so forth in it, the prices can get radical. Agree it's heavy. I just like working with it, other than the plastic like stench and white powder.

Ok...next idea...

What would be a optimum amp to power this project? As always your design work looks outstanding.
