Should ask Bob to build one of those!

30 watts might work when sitting still with the engine off. At speed, not enough to overcome road noise. Auto speakers are NOTORIOUSLY inefficient.

Thanks, Dave. I missed that somehow when skimming it over the other day. That said, I had some time to actually sit down and read while taking my time today. It looks like they offer an upgrade.
An upgrade is available for BaM-230 and BaM-235 owners. It's a substantial upgrade that involves changing almost everything inside including the tubes, sockets, power supply, etc. It's nearly a new amp. If you have a BaM-230 or BaM-235, this upgrade brings your amplifier up to newest specification and performance.
Which to me sounds like they bring an older Milbert unit and make it into a BaM235ab and not an upgrade to the BaM235ab itself. I'm gonna e-mail them and find out more about this amplifier and upgrade capabilities.

As for the watts? Eh, they don't mean as much with it being a tube amp. As a general rule, you double the wattage of a tube amp to get its SS equivalent. You have to also keep in mind two things with this amp. One, it soft clips which is nothing like hard clipping. You can turn it up further while still being able to actually enjoy the music which can, in effect, make it seem to have more power than it does because you can actually enjoy it at louder levels than an SS counterpart. Secondly, it has a storage unit built in for transients that require additional boost and the amplifier runs at 20 amps at full power with a 25 amp limit. That's a lot of current. Also, keep in mind that the watts will remain the same, no matter the ohm rating of the speaker.
