Re: TNT FleXy Table?

I've considered building a flexy rack for a long time now. Just checked on McMaster-Carr for stainless steel rods/bronze bolts in custom thread sizes, 3/4" rod, & it would be $2036.00 for all the parts I need to build the rack I want, and that is for PART of the hardware only!

I've built several over the years and help others build theirs. Here are some of the results.

Daayyyyumnnn....that's incredible. I know who's helping me on my next rack.

That last one looks like it's only supported on three legs, or I need glasses finally?

Those are awesome =D> =D> =D>

Re: TNT FleXy Table?

They are simple or complex as you want. Basic model uses veneered plywood. Just use some edge banding or screen molding to cover the edges. The all thread is cheap from a bolt and screw wholesaler (check your local listings or Google it). It comes in 10 and 12 foot lengths and they'll cut it in half for you. If you don't like the exposed thread, cut some PVC pipe, paint it and slide over the all thread as you put the shelves on.

Re: TNT FleXy Table?

Damn nice racks. I have been working on moving my junk across the room to a new rack for a couple days, but I don't have that kind of eye candy rack. My new rack does have 12 shelves, so I can bring out some long closeted stuff like my old cassette deck, my tuner, and my old 100 CD player which I am going to just fill with old Country Music. \:D/

My rack is solid, but kinda cheap using the standards above.

I have read on Wardsweb before. He is a handy guy who really puts thought and detail into his projects.

Very nice, Wardsweb! I got a three-day weekend coming up. Looking at purchasing the goods and trying it out. Any other tips that cross your mind that you wish you would have know prior to making your first FleXy?

Thanks, it is in serious need of updating. I don't think I've done anything new in years with it. Still it does have some good info.
