Re: Going back to school with Bob Carver
I'll try to post some of the stuff from FB for those of you who don't have it. Today's quote:
"Alex Sauter's FaceySpace
Last night was a break through with the speakers, Bob and I sat down together last night for about 3 & 1/2 hours refining the tuning voice. This morning, after ripping apart the right channel to re-stuff the enclosure with Poly-fil, bob sat down and listened to the speakers and said, "HOLY SHIT!!!" After 3-4 hours of critical listening this morning, Bob said he was 98.5% happy with the speakers! Now on the way to his lake house he stated that he would have no problem with putting the speakers into production but not going to. Yet!"

Bob had me search for a 1968 RCA Transistor Manual and I downloaded an earlier one to my iPad. Half way through the book, bob was having trouble "flipping" the page and said, "the physics on this page is easy! But how do you flip the page?!?" everyone busted out laughing!

Re: Going back to school with Bob Carver
OK I just stopped by over there and made a couple posts.......I basically only use my Facebook account to spy on my son so I know wtf he is doing since he likes to fake like he is an angel around me
I usually don't travel over that way but my Dad lives on the edge of Snohomish (Cathcart) and lives in Yuma AZ in the winter but he just emailed me and said he is on his way back up to Snohomish.
So if you see a guy looking in the window at speakers.......that doesn't need to stand on a ladder to do it......it might be me
Hell I was hoping Facebook would be good for something some day and it finally is ( I never try to add any friends to my account since I am not into that silly thing)

Re: Going back to school with Bob Carver
at this moment, we are almost ready to desisn the final dividing network as the voicing is ahead of schedule from what bob expected. these things sound so , well, amazing. nothing i have heard in the past compares, short of his prior offerings and even then they come up short in the ability to play at level i thought unattainable by any other loud speakers. these things just go on and on without any hint of stress. i want, no i need a amp now with several thousand watts per channel to put these things through their paces as the 305's run out of steam before the speakers do. even when we bi-amped them at the florida show, we still came up short. now do not get this statement twisted as the baby 20wpc amp drives these speakers to a comfortable spl especially when we add a crossover and sub woofer to fill the last two octaves with authority. the clarity is stunning as i am hearing things in the speakers that i have only noticed in quality headphones in days prior. this speaker is going to redifine what a speaker is supposed to do i think. they have this wall of sound they project that allows a person to start pinpionting things in the program material in a way that other speakers can not. the sound is like a wall that surrounds you with so much front to back and side to side information while the speakers themselfes are very hard to localize at the same time. it is uncanny how well they dissapear into that wall of sound. anyway, back to work now, more to come.

Today has been an awesome day... We did the final voicing of the speakers. Bob is really happy with the final curve we now have. He will be going in for a 2nd back surgery tomorrow. Looks like we will be set loose on Washington for a couple days.... You know what that means.... SLUMBER PARTY!!!!!
