Re: Oppo coming out with new BDP-103/105

Been wanting one of the Oppo 95's.

Anyone have or spent any time with an Oppo as a CD or SACD player?
My office (and only) system:
Sunfire Theater Grand Processor (with original remote!)
Carver TD-1770
Klipsch Chorus II's
Legacy Studio's (circa 2003)
Sony CA70ES 5-disc changer
Sony SACD 5-disc changer
Carver HR-772 receiver (sitting on the sideline)
Proton D1200 amplifier (hey, I love the green power meters!)

I habe had an Oppo CD/DVD player (980) for years. They are superior!

I've been running one for a while Gary. I like it a lot for it's versatility.

From the few comparisions I've been able to do, it holds up well against others on the high-rez. It doesn't hold up as well on redbook though it doesn't suck.

But it shines at being able to do so many things. I've got it on my home network and can stream to it and use it as the dac. This lets me put the computer somewhere else in the house and with a remote control fire what I want. No worries on the computers noise.

Then you can plug in a drive and play from a USB source and us it as a DAC.

Of course you can do the video thing. With J River Media as the player back on the computer, you can not only play your high rez but also just let it do video's too if that's your thing.

Oh...and that can be wireless for the audio and/or the video with the included dongle. Cool..huh?

It'll play any disc you drop in.

But with the high rez, it's dandy! That's probably about 90% of what I do with it.

Mark
