hewlew1 wrote:HERE GOES! I had to figure a way to make a fair and logical comparison of Dougs cables. I started by listening to 4 different disks which I was quite familar with using my cables. I then narrowed it down to one song from those 4 disks which I listened to 4 consecutive times before switching to Dougs cables. All I can say is I am no longer a skeptic. It was as if someone peeled away a film that was over the music.Vocals became very clear and seemed to be more present not overbearing but enhanced. The bass had a positive reinforcement that really solidified it again not muddy but solid. It is hard for me to put into words as I never could have imagined that cables could make such a difference. I now cant live without them. Doug is a great guy to deal with we talked on the phone last night for quite some time.He was gracious enough to give me pointers on how to assemble my cables and my order was shipped out today. System used in comparison was Sony CD Player Carver CT-7 Pre set to a flat tonal setting on all three ranges. My Carverfest tube monoblocks and a pair of Polk Monitor 7's up on my 30 inch stands. Song of choice Rod Stewart Passion. =D> =D>

Nice review Harry! I was quite amazed myself, trying out my first pair between the amp and preamp. Its like taking a blanket off the front of your speakers \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ Wait till you try one of his power cables and hear the noise floor lower to pure silence.

Re: Douglas Connection I/C Roadshow

His RCA cables are self labeled with optional ends to choose from. I use the Vampire Wire locking rca ends. The outer sleeve is threaded and made like a collet. Just slip it on the rca jack and tighten it down for an air tight connection.

The power cables are Furutech, and some of them have optional ends. Gold, silver, rhodium(sp) plated. No doubt its all very high quality stuff...and it works.

The pricees can be from mild to wild. A good pair of IC's is about $100 plus or minus depending on which ends you choose.

Re: Douglas Connection I/C Roadshow

Here you go,, the cables were well built, and more flexible than I thought(a good thing).I thought that they were detailed,,but not bright at all.If I had to pin it,I would say that they are "a tad laid back (just my taste) detailed,,but not bright or glaring. So,, with that said,,I ordered a pair for my brother so that he could connect his tube mono's(8 feet IIRC),so we were able to enjouy a full compliment of Doug's cables in his system,,and, guess what-- his SDA rig has never sounded so good--toe tappin' here guys. For the money,,Doug's cables are a NO BRAINER,,,I can (and Will) live with these for some time,,if you are looking for a quality, well built cable--look no further,,,I give them a five star rating (great) for the price/performance ,,what can I say--the guy builds an extremely good affordable cable. Now,,lets get some speaker cables on tour!!!!!

Atta boy Doug!!!!!

BTW-- the ones I got for my brother had the locking rca's-highly recommended

Heck yes on the speaker cables,,the synergy was off the charts with the IC's,, and I would love to audition some speaker cables.

Doug,,the price/performance ratio of your cables is just fantastic. Thanks for doing this!
