What to do for the next two weeks....

I've thought about building my own using dual K-48 15's as bass bins and mounting the huge horns on top.

You should go for it. What do the bass bins look like?

You need to hear a pair of Klipsch "Jubilee" horns....

No... I don't have room. Although, I have been thinking about how nice Cornscalas would be in place of my Lascalas in 5.1

Hoping to order the drivers for my bass bins in the garage this week. And I need to find two more 288 compression horns

Basically the KP 450 is very close to what I wanted to build, I thought of the idea long before I knew these speakers existed. Basically similar to what's pictured here but with the chorus 15's (k-48) and the Jubilee horn. Of course I wouldn't mind finding a pair of the KP-450's either.

That would be sweet and juicy like these nutz., i don't know why but I really like 2 way designs

I just noticed on the brochure, "129db max output," Holy Shit!! My Chorus II's are 121db and get out of hand pretty fast!!

Anyway, looks to be another good weekend coming up. Last night my 4 Great Plains Audio 515's came in, yep qty(4) 15 inch woofers. Now the bass bins will be done.


And I snagged 3 Altec 1003 multi cel horns. Yes I only need two, but a spare will always come in handy.


This one just needs painting


The two gray ones need a little Loctite rust neutralizer treatment and a little bondo on the outside of the horns to repair where the tar has flaked away. After a new coat of paint, they will look good as new except I'll have to find or make 1003 labels.

Hopefully the 288 drivers show up tomorrow and with a little luck I can have these running by the end of next weekend
