R.I.P. MARLEY

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Christmas, mine is not going to well.

On Thursday my 5 year 11 month old Chocolate Lab got sick and was taking into the CCU at Alta Vista Animal Hospital.
After Xrays, Blood Test, Ultra Sounds and Blood Transfusions he was diagnosed with a septic blood (bacteria)
Yesterday about 1hr after leaving the vet's, on one of my many visits since Thursday. I had a call from the vet
and was informed that the bacteria was attacking his Heart and he chances of survival had gone down from the 50/50
it was an hour ago to 20/80

So at 5:30pm Christmas Eve, with me giving him a tummy rub, he passed on.
The whole family will miss him so much.
I am left with lot's and lot's of fond memories and a $10.400.00 vet bill.

R.I.P. Marley I LOVE YOU, Your Dad

I am truly sorry for your loss. I know how some may think "it's just a pet" but for us, they are family!

Re: R.I.P. MARLEY

Brian,

So sorry to hear about Marley. As you know, we are dog people also with having Golden's all of our lives. Katie, is our 5th. As mentioned, they are so much more than pets. They are family members.

We share your loss and you and Pat are in our prayers. Although Marley can never be replaced, having been through this numerous times, we have found comfort in getting another one as quickly as possible.

Brian & Pat. "I'm sorry for your loss" doesn't say nearly enough but it is all we can do.

Please know that I am truly sorry and it comes from the heart.

Don.

Marley was my 5th Lab, Cadbury was before Marley, he only made it to 8 years, all the others have it past 14 years.
Since we arrived in Canada in 1976 we have always had 2 or 3 dogs as part of our family.
In the top picture, you can see a little (10lbs) Yorkshire Terrier (Braco) he has been Marley's every day companion for all of his short life.

Tomorrow Pat and I, are going to take a look a rescue dog at our local pound to see if we think he can fit into our family. Tank: http://ottawahumane.ca/adoption/petharbor_dogs.cfm
Lets see what happens.

To all of you dog people, we thank you for your good wishes.

Brian,
Sorry for your loss. Although a replacement for your pet can never truly happen a new addition will ease some of the pain.
My thoughts are with you and I hope your new pet will offer up plenty of unconditional love!
Good sound—like good music, good wine, and good fellowship—is meant to be shared.
