RIP Amar Bose

OK, I admit I owned a pair of 901's.Reflecting back, the first time I heard a pair of 901's was in the late 60's in a Burdines Dept. store. I was a teenager back then. Not knowing high end audio, I said to myself, I would own a pair of those one day. Sure enough, saved and saved and purchased a pair 5 years or so later. They were mainstays until I bought the Plat 4's in 1991.

"In the early 1960s, Dr. Bose invented a new type of stereo speaker based on psychoacoustics, the study of sound perception. His design incorporated multiple small speakers aimed at the surrounding walls, rather than directly at the listener, to reflect the sound and, in essence, recreate the larger sound heard in concert halls."

Looks like Bob might of borrowed some ideas from him for his Sunfire CRM-2's and new ALS speakers... :-k :-k

Inventor of probably the most infamous and famous speakers ever built and definitely the most commercially successful . Thanks Mr. Bose.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

The man who introduced bad sound to millions......if only the company would follow him.
Political Correctness...defined

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Regardless of what we think of him or his products, he deserves respect.
