It seems pretty plain to me that things are not over and done for Bob. If they were why would James be moving to Washington State ](*,)

Emo stuff as of a couple years ago was just simply not musical. Why make sound and not music? If it can't make music that ran raise the hair on the back of your neck, why bother? So no....nothing to get excited about!

Because their target customer is the first time separates buyer, folks that have never had more than an HTIB or AVR and don't want to or can't afford to buy the better stuff. They don't know what musical sounds like, so it's easy to pull the wool over their ears and make money doing it.

While that type of business model seems to have worked well for the last few years, it's not a long term model. As those first time buyers get more experience they realize they made a mistake, feel ripped off and take their future business elsewhere. Big Dan really shot himself in the foot saying that Carver was going to improve the Emo gear, which simply verified what others have known all along, it's not that good.

4 weeks ago, the deal was still on the table.
This came about since we've been home.

4 weeks ago, you would have gotten a completely different story, than if asked today.

IMHO - No engineer with pride likes to design to a price point.....build it the best you can and price it afterwards. I would suspect Emotiva maybe does things the latter way. :-k

Bob designed that way for Carver corp. Then the bean counters came along behind and made everything cheap.
