Zumbini said the same thing - that you asked Rich to remove all your posts.

Bold-faced lies. Never said that anywhere & never would.

What would be the point of a discussion Martin?
Rod and Gary both asked to have their accounts deleted.
Rich just gave them what they asked for.

I suspect Gary would be welcome to return as well.

I did go back for a bit to connect with some of the good people there. Stayed in the background mostly. That's apparently a sin too.

Then the crazy member level shit, etc. started again. Deja Vu all over again.

Won't be repeating that mistake.

Let it go.

As for asking to be deleted, posts removed, I was trying to make a point. People banned, heavy editing / removal of posts.

I guess few got the message.

On at least two occasions I suggested you go back. I couldn't believe you were happy goofing with just me and Trav (mostly).
I don't blame you a bit for wanting to be more involved - its in your blood.

I totally agree. We went through that phase long ago. A few members wanted other members wiped from the board, and a few other members decided to start deleting their own posts.
That really started to screw up the context of threads. So I put a stop to it.
A user can remove his own post for up to 1 hour I believe, and edit it for up to 24 hours. After that, it's written in stone.
And since very few posts are edited or deleted here, the threads stay intact as they were posted.
Otherwise, shit stops making what little sense it did to start with

Re: Great Members of the Past (#2 - RodH and TnR) - Carversi

There's really only one person I have a beef with over there. That's old news and I'm pretty much over it.
But the system to me is intolerable.

I only responded in these threads as specific questions were asked and I thought my small part might add some perspective.

The best thing to do is just stay clear of it and move on. My plan in any case.

- edit -

I'm a terrible proofreader any always see my spelling mistakes after hitting the 'post' button.
Having a few minutes of editing time is crucial!
That was the edit here.

Re: Great Members of the Past (#2 - RodH and TnR) - Carversi

It occurs to me that sometimes a community needs some damaging to awaken the populace to the screwing over they have been getting.

Word problems over there, perhaps. Deleting a member doesn't have to mean taking out the entire post history, just the membership - "retirement status", in his terms. But if it's convenient to look at the other way, you can do it.

Most of Gary's more important posts are on this site as well, I'm pretty sure, so the loss is theirs. Of course that's probably not what RP is after - deleting the whole thing is the easy way to remove the 0.002% of those posts that might be seen as critical of the status quo on that forum, of questioning his judgement and absolute authority. Such heresy cannot be permitted, so make him an un-person.

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater...

Shame on me! I should have not posted anything prior to having my morning coffee.

From your comments I can deduce DavidR=Zumbini on the other site correct?
