Post by Bill » Thu Apr 19, 2007 5:22 pm

I think this is the same guy from this forum, he posted this up in the Polk forum......It is pretty cool....He talked to Bob for a while I guess....Mr. Carver didn't know there was a Carver forum at all, and I guess he was surprised how much of a following he still has...Check it out...

Wow, avguytx is my new hero....that's awesome. I'd give my left nut (ok, probably not) to be able to sit & shoot the shit with Bob Carver.

lessee, you got an amp autographed by Bob(kinda like having a pilots license endorsed by Orville Wright) and was offered(by Bob again) a repair of his DTL. Look who had a best week ever, even if it all happened in one evening. Damn I'm jealous. Dude you rule!!

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

I'd certainly love to get him to magic-marker his name onto that 1.5 you sold me, Mister Rabbit :) and on the 1.0 as well!

Now if he'd only had that recently posted rare Lightstar amp signed by Bob with a pic to prove authenticity, it'd be worth some major green....

I just saw this thread...it was great to shoot the s**t with Bob and I got to do it again on a business trip I was at in Lexington, KY a couple of weeks back. He said he hoped to have my DTL done soon and back to me...but no guarantees. Hell, I don't care. It's just nice him offering to take the time to even check it out! I do have a picture of him with the amp after he signed it and is sitting next to it, too. I talk to him about every couple of weeks or so for something or another. I'm a Sunfire rep so I talk to the factory a lot. A great bunch of people there...that's for sure.

I'd be willing to kick in some $$ to buy Bob a ticket even though I probably can't attend(work/business obligations). Make the guy an offer, hook him up with some accomodations, find out what kind of scotch he drinks and for Ged sakes treat him with the respect we all know he deserves. Someone take a web cam and do a webcast of the whole thing. See if he'll give a how-to on setting up the Amazings in a room. That's worth whatever it'll cost to get him there. Think of it as access to 'everything you always wanted to know about your gear' and that would be the straight stuff from the MAN . My .02 cents

Ditto.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
