Good grief, anyone with a modicum of tech savvy, some patience, and a minor investment into miscellaneous auctions can easily defeat their "protections." Get a person with 10 ebay IDs who is always buying buying items anyway and you've defeated the low feedback/few buys way of spotting them. Give this person some proxy servers and the equivalent number of paypal accounts and suddenly you have 10 buyers from around the world showing up in their server logs.

Are they still obfuscating the nyms of bidders on auctions exceeding $200? That does more to enable shill bidding than anything they appear to have done to try and prevent it.
