I got a simple system... kinda dated..... around 10 years old.......

I have:
Denon AVR 3300 Integrated receiver - 5 x 105 if I remember correctly
Toshiba SD 6200 DVD Player
Energy C8's for the main speakers
Energy C2's for the surrounds
Energy AC300-1 center channel
Sunfire True Subwoofer Signature

I need to find a reasonable place to service my sub. It is an awesome piece. I have used it very little however in the past 6-8 years since moving to my new house. Before I moved, the sub developed a low freq hum if it was plugged into the wall..... regardless if any music signal was going to it or not. I tried different outlets... different circuits..... etc...... once I moved... I didn't set up a home theater very quickly..... but did hook it up... to listen to music.... still had hum....

Well, I got my first high def flat screen TV and blue ray player for Christmas and have plans to hook it all back up. I would like to get my sub serviced to fix this hum. It is barely audible with anything playing... but turn everything off.... and it just sits in the corner and hums until you unplug it.....

Any suggestions?

I tried calling the Rita Helm number I found on another site.... apparently that number isn't connected anymore.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response. I have contaced Bob thru email using the website you gave me. It is unclear to me on their "rates" to fix my sub..... so I emailed him the particulars.... maybe I'll get a response early next week.

Again.... thanks for the info.

Try a couple of things with your sub. First, tighten all the washers on the potentiometers. They need to make good contact of your sub will hum. Second, ground bust the sub (you know, those three prong to two prong thingys). Try plugging your sub in both ways after going to two prongs.
