New guy with little knowledge

I have been a fan of Mr. Carver since the 70's when I first hooked up the Phase Linear M 700 to a pair of Speakerlab K Horns. Got married and the wife didn't think they worked in my one bedroom condo. Chose poorly and kept her. Good news, she's gone and the last alimony payment made. I am currently putting together a HT and audio room and will be looking to you good folks for guidance. I have attempted to "list my equipment" three times but it just disappeared each time after I logged out. Could be my tablet, I will dust off the pc and try again.

Re: New guy with little knowledge
Thanks. I have never belonged to a forum before but after perusing this one for nearly a week, I learned one thing very quickly: don't use the "dibbs" word.
I am really looking forward to learning from all of you. Having spent all my life living in the Seattle area, I have always been a homie when it came to anything that had the Carver name associated with it. Now I can finally afford to own some.

Re: New guy with little knowledge
Thanks Chris. You are certainly correct about the financial part. 6 months from now I will be posting a new thread; New guy with little money.
Re: New guy with little knowledge
You may be the new guy with little money, but you will have some of the best audio equipment money can buy
. You need to think about sitting along side the Bobfather on a plane on your way to Carverfest. After all whats a few more bucks for a good time.

Re: New guy with little knowledge
Yeah us old timers from the Great NW all got hooked by Phase Linear and those SpeakerLab K Horns
Sure takes a lot less room when we switched to the ALS's
But I will never forget the day when I played my fresh from the store Physical Graffiti with the Phase Linear and K Horn's for my 17th birthday in 1975

Welcome from Old Gal with even less knowledge - but these guys absolutely will set you on the right OCCD path. Sounds like you had a taste of OCCD already.
So you learned about dibbs, learning about how to post your system - and well on your way to new friendships, great music and CarverFest???
Enjoy the board.
Do you know I have a "Book Of Slights" in my head? Everyone who has ever slighted me is in there. It's a BIG book...but payback is a bitch.
