Hello from NJ

Post by BillWojo » Sun Dec 07, 2014 10:36 am

Hi everybody, new member here from NJ. Found this site because of the speaker build that was posted on the other forum. I'm thinking of getting in on that myself.
Anyway, a few weeks ago I picked up a Carver C1 pre with all the BillD mods along with a PM600 amp and TX-8 tuner in a quest to upgrade my system from a Denon PMA-720 intergrated. I'm running my system through a set of DCM TimeFrame 600 speakers. First time I powered up the Carver system I was amazed, the difference in the sound was amazing. So I'm a convert and a believer. Anyway, I wanted to say Hi and I hope to learn a lot from you fine folks.

Glad to have you... And thrilled you are planning on getting in on the speaker build as well.
Feel free to fumble around the forum. There's about 11-12 years worth of posts for you to catch up on

Regardless of what you've heard, (most of us) don't bite.

Welcome, BillWojo. I used to have some DCM Timewindows. They were nice speakers. You are right about the Carver gear-much better than Denon. You may be enticed to buy more. That's how it goes.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. Nice to find a group of folks with the same interest. And yes, Carver gear is addicting. The more I read the more stuff I want. Would love to find a M-500T with those great looking meters. I hit the GoodWill and thrift stores pretty regularly now. Last week I scored a Sony DVP-S7000 that sounds great with my Carver setup.
Take care
