Passed the First Test

Post by House de Kris » Thu Feb 26, 2015 12:45 pm

Found this site via a friend, liked it, decided to join. Took way too many tries to answer the anti-bot questions. Got locked out, tried later, dumbed-down my answer, and got in!

At any rate, I'm now fulfilling my next test, post something to avoid getting deleted.

Oh yeah, to keep this on topic I have a Carver C-9 SHG, and a Carver PM-300 amplifier. Perhaps more in the future, you never know.

welcome aboard. hell you might be able to buy more gear if Wayne and Angelo haven't bought it all yet.

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

Turns out I don't have many photos of the PM-300 in action. This shot is about the only one that is clear. The PM-300 is the sub amp, the Stewart World-600 is the woofer amp, and the Crown D-75 is for the mid/tweets. Crossover is a Peavey, but I don't recall the model number. The other Crown amps in this rack are spares.

This is my medium size outdoor system currently. Turns out, the trick Carver Magnetic Power Supply does not like to be powered by portable generators. I learned this only after I drug this system out to the middle of nowhere and couldn't get the PM-300 to turn on. No problem with utility supplied power, though. Luckily, I believe in bringing lots of spares and backups, so I had a work around that night.

The speakers are below. Community CSX40-S2 sub, driven by the PM-300, a quad of DIY mini LaScalas woofers, and an EV SH-1810H-ER mid/tweeter.
