Sunfire Amp
Sunfire Amp
Can the 300/600/1200 version of the sunfire amp be bridged ? I have a pair of amazing platinum mkIV. I'm afraid a single version of this amp won't drive them to levels I like to listen at. I also have a pair of the original amazing with the 60" ribbon upgrade. How about these ? I'm currently using a pro style amp and want to upgrade

Re: Sunfire Amp
The Sunfire amps can be run as a monobloc in what Sunfire calls "parallel mono"....1200 watts into 8 ohms, capable of driving low ohm loads in this mode. While not bridging in the traditional sense, it gives similar power increases without the negative effects of bridging.

Something else to consider is using a Sunfire Signature multi-channel amp to bi-amp fi you have two sets of binding posts (one for woofers, one for ribbons), like the 400x5.

That's interesting, was not familiar with this method.

Re: Sunfire Amp
I have two of the 600X2 running my speakers thanks to Jesse
.
I have greedy speakers.
Most times bridging is not necessary for Sunfire amps as they are clean and powerful. The 300 can pull most any speakers with ease.
All brands of amps are not equal as to what they claim to be.
I don't bridge, run the low ends with one amp and the high ends with the other. Maybe that puts more stress on one amp than the other, but the amps don't seem to notice that. Together they put 2400 clean watts to each speaker.
Cranking them up makes one love Bob Carver.

OO I would love to hear those "Mac" speakers of yours. I bet they are awesome with a pair of 600's running them.
