Comcast remote code to control Carver C-1000A

I have a Carver C-1000A home theater receiver. I'm trying to control it - mainly the volume - with the Comcast (custom 3) universal remote control that the cable company provides. The key to this is programming the Comcast remote AUX mode with the right Carver code. I tried all the 4 digit codes they listed for Carver Audio, Carver Receiver, Carver TV and Sunfire, but no luck. I even tried adding a "3" as the first number to each of these codes (therby making these 5 digit codes).

Any suggestions? Ideas?

The C-1000 and C-1000a were designed by a friend of Bob's while he was at Sunfire, for Sunfire, to try to bring the Carver name back.

I used the Carver remote that came with the unit. I never tried getting another remote to control it.
Way too many buttons, and Universal remotes NEVER work correctly with Carver equipment. There are always buttons missing.
I am pretty sure that Carver/Sunfire was using Phillips or Magnavox codes for their remotes
Your best bet is to get a "learning remote" and program it manually.
