Hello James,

Your order of ribbon tweeter RT2 and woofer LA4P was delivered on May 31 for shipment to Tampa, Florida. The name of the carrying vessel is "Ever Deluxe" v.0103E. ETD is June 3 and ETA is July 1.
We are making a prototype of the foam surround so that we can see if it will meet your requirement and get all costs for preparing a quotation. I will let you know the progress about this matter.

I'm a bit late due to change of business plan....however, i'm in Hong Kong at this very moment.
Just contacted a few local manufacturers about the TAL woofer surrounds.
In facts, i brought my own woofer here to show them.

I'll need to know for sure if you are already getting surround made Toymaker, if not....
Then what is the total numbers of these 12" surround will be needed by all members.

Since the manufacturer has to start from scratch meaning making a metal mold, there is also a plastic mold but the out come its a very low quality product without precision.

The mold has a initial costs for the workmanship and after that there is also a minimum surround of 3000pcs.has to be made to worth the trouble for the manufacturer.

So ToyMaker, if you can send out an official email to all members to gather a total number of orders(surrounds) to aid this decision.
If you have already at a half way point of making these surround, then pls let me know so i won't have to go through all these trouble of getting them made here in HK.

Hell, if they're cheap (under $5) I'd order a set of 10 just to support the cause....

Am awaiting for ToyMaker's opinions about ordering and making these surrounds.
As soon as i received his reply...i shall let everyone knows on here, just bear with us for a little longer.
Just hope i can do something before i leave here (Hong Kong).....its a loooong trip, not going to be back here again any time soon.

Not sure if you got my email or not, but the price was WAY HIGH....
I'm looking around 1/4 the price you sent me...
Retail per surround would have to be $25-30 each.. That's what the whole DRIVER cost new.

I'm afraid for the numbers you sent me, I will have to pass completely.



I still have my driver company making me samples as we speak, so all hope is not lost guys...

I'm sorry that our tooling for this project is not yet completed.  So we have not got all cost for preparing the quote.
I already pushed our technicians to expedite the process to get a result earlier.

I was on the list should surrounds be made HOWEVER I no longer need them (Sold Plat's) soooooooo....

I did find a pair of 60 inch Ribbons that look "PERFECT" however they don't work I did every test I know of but still no sound and again they look perfect, No tears rips or anything,,,any idea's???

What is the resistance between the leads? Should be about 4.6Ω.
